Aikido
Practice power, grace,
and calmness.
Aiki Spokane Roshinkan is a traditional aikido dojo where students of every background train together to harmonize body, mind, and spirit — on the mat and beyond it.
A place to begin, at any age or ability
Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art founded on the principle of resolving conflict without doing harm. Rather than meeting force with force, we learn to blend with an attacker's energy and redirect it — a practice of sincerity, mutual respect, and personal development. No prior experience is necessary. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Harmony
The heart of aikido is ai-ki — meeting energy with harmony rather than resistance. We train to stay centered and calm under pressure.
Character
Aikido is a lifelong path. The discipline we build on the mat becomes patience, humility, and composure in daily life.
Community
There is no competition here. Partners work cooperatively, each helping the other grow with what we call fierce joy.
We welcome all practitioners regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or age. The dojo is a space of respect and belonging, and we celebrate the diversity of our members.
